life inspired

This is my first month participating in the "Life Inspired" photo project with Beyond the Wanderlust!  I love documenting our daily life and I did a lot of it this month since we did quite a bit of traveling to see all of the grandparents.  I don't have a lot of rules for myself about when to take pictures of my family but I pretty much go by the rule that if I think to myself "I should get my camera." I do.  I always try to capture firsts of any kind and in this month's worth of images there are a couple--my daughter's first ice cream sundae and eating marshmallows out of a mug of hot chocolate for the first time.  I also try to take pictures of anything that is especially "her" at this age.  The crazy outfits she picks out, the giant block towers she spends for ever working on, and the way she devours a breakfast sandwich at Subway--all examples of things I don't want to forget about my daughter at 2.5 years old.  I hope you enjoy these and make sure you head over to all of the April posts to check out some amazing photographers and how they document their family's life!

Baby Elise Part 2

If you saw part 1 you already know that Elise is absolutely adorable.  The first post was just scrumptious baby pictures.  This post is a collection of my favorite images of baby with her family.  Even though big sister wasn't too into having her photo taken we still got a few cute shots.  I think I love the ones of mom and baby best.  I had so much fun working with this family and it was really an honor to be allowed into their home to capture these memories for them.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Baby Elise Part 1

This session was so gorgeous that I decided to split it into two parts so I don't have to leave any of my favorites out.  I have known Elise's parents for a few years now since they're close friends with my brother in law.  I knew they were so excited to be welcoming their second daughter and I was thrilled that they wanted me to do her newborn session at their home.  We had such a nice relaxed time and Baby Elise was an absolute angel.  She snoozed away almost the entire time and when she was awake she just looked around sweetly and made cute newborn squeaks :).

This blog post is only images of Elise by herself and in my next post I'll show off all of the beautiful family pictures that I took that day. One of the images from this session was featured on the amazing Lemonade and Lenses blog as a weekly favorite here.  Enjoy!
